Welcome to India! Your fellow travellers will be arriving throughout the day. The tour begins at 6pm with a meet and greet. Afterwards, you can stay at the accommodation and settle in, or you can explore the city and get a little taste of what this majestic country has to offer.
Day Two - Mumbai
28TH JANUARY & 30TH SEPTEMBER
It’s time to start exploring. Enjoy a free day in Mumbai. We recommend you use the day to experience the city. You can participate in a cycling tour of South Mumbai, explore the Ancient Elephanta Caves, or take a tour of the Dharavi Slums.
Day Three - Mumbai
29TH JANUARY & 1ST OCTOBER
Since one day just isn't enough, spend another day in Mumbai. Perhaps you should check out the Mumbai markets, Mosques, and the UNESCO World Heritage Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.
Day Four - Mhaswad
30TH JANUARY & 2ND OCTOBER
It’s time to move on from Mumbai and travel out to Mhaswad. On the way, we have the option to stop by Pune and explore Aga Khan Palace, Osho Teerth Gardens, Jungli Maharaj Temple or Shaniwar Wada Fort.
Day Five - Mhaswad
31ST JANUARY & 3RD OCTOBER
Our time in Mhaswad is all about meeting the locals and experiencing their lives. We'll have the unique opportunity to meet with one of the most inspiring organisations in the world. The Mann Deshi Bank & Foundation has been recognised by the World Bank, Barack Obama and Harvard University for its incredible work. The Mann Deshi Bank is a micro-enterprise development bank which supports and develops women from low-income backgrounds. The Foundation supports local development in programs such as Athletics and the Mobile Business School.
This is the opportunity to meet and greet the local community- who are also responsible for building this itinerary!
Day Six - Chasing the Monsoon
1ST FEBRUARY & 4TH OCTOBER
This is an extremely rare chance to meet with the nomadic shepherds of the area and experience their way of living. These shepherds were featured in the recent BBC documentary Wonders of The Monsoon. We will be spending the night in Mhaswad.
Day Seven - Bamnoli
2ND FEBRUARY & 5TH OCTOBER
Today we move on to Bamnoli, deep within the Kas area of Maharashtra. We’ll be at the top of the Western Ghats, the oldest mountain range in India with some of the best biodiversity in the world. Enjoy the grandeur and peace as our travelling specialist shares his knowledge of the unique species and local stories of the range.
Day Eight - Panchgani
3RD FEBRUARY & 6TH OCTOBER
Today we move on to Panchgani, a well kept secret. Locals know this place but foreigners very rarely get the change to take in its majestic sights. Placed at the top of the Western Ghats mountain range, this area has a huge amount to offer. Stay in a locally run organic farmhouse, and enjoy the fresh food and remote peace. You'll have the opportunity to practice Yoga in the mountains, try white water rafting, or explore the local wilderness.
Day Nine - Panchgani
4TH FEBRUARY & 7TH OCTOBER
Enjoy another full day in Panchgani. You're free to chose your activities again. We suggest that you explore all that this beautiful land has offer and take in its sights. Visit Parci Point, Wilson Point, or the Dhobi Waterfall.
Day Ten - Return to Mumbai
5TH FEBRUARY & 8TH OCTOBER
It’s the end of our trip. Flexible car arrangements will allow you to leave Panchgani and return to Mumbai at a time that best suits you. You can stay in the mountains until later in the day or head back early. Your car can take you directly to the airport or back to a hotel if you wish to extend your trip for a few more days.
